My Bio

About Me

My bride, Leslie Marie, and I have 5 terrific kids. I have a B.A. in Broadcast/Media Communications from Asbury University, a Masters of Divinity from Wesley Biblical Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University. I have served as the head of two Christian schools as well as on the administrations of Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Emmaus Biblical Seminary in Haiti, and Wesley Biblical Seminary. I have also served in various roles in church planting and pastoral ministry.

My purpose is to engage hearts and minds for holy kingdom living. As one called to be a pastor-theologian, my passion is guiding people to more deeply understand the Bible’s redemptive story and to love the right things in the right order (discipleship) as followers of Jesus. I love teaching and preaching, vision-casting, Biblical theology and theological discipleship of laity, developing other leaders, problem-solving, building and equipping teams, and pastoral counseling.

God’s calling on my life has been to the teaching and discipleship work of the church. My vision of ministry is anchored in 4 core principles: preaching Scripture as the authoritative Word of God; modeling and calling others to personal and social holiness; creating effective discipleship structures for believers at all stages of maturity and life; and empowering every member of the body to engage in ministry by investing in and multiplying leaders.God’s calling on my life has been to the teaching and discipleship work of the church.
