London – British Prime Minister Tony Blair said on Wednesday that neighbouring African countries had a responsibility to address the crisis in Zimbabwe, and suggested it could hamper his G8 goal of helping the continent.

The fact is throwing money at third world poverty is no solution at all. It’s far less likely to help those in need when it’s government-to-government aid. And the problem is not a lack of American generosity or the false assumption that the poor exist because the rich have all the money; the problem, especially in Africa, is corruption.
