003 – Stories, Myth, and the Bible

Play episode

Summary

We often talk about the Bible as a story or the “Bible’s big story.” But what is the significance of thinking about the Old Testament and the Bible itself in this way? In this episode, Bryan explores the idea of the Bible as story and myth, a grand narrative that explains how the world works and why it is the way it is. But, as C.S. Lewis so famously said, the Bible is the one myth that happens to be true. We also look at the 6 simple parts of the Bible’s story and the main theological themes in the Old Testament that are the beginning of that story.
